Hey, same thing here, but I just got it to work. I have Matshita DVD RAM UJ-830s I put the CD in before opening I tunes like I read previously. Then, I bumped down the speed to 2X (I read somewhere else to bump that down). It is really slow, and next time I will try without going that slow, but I am just happy to be able to burn a bloody CD!!! Hope this works for someone else.

I have been having the same problem with the 4280 error. i have a MATSHITA burner as well. Now what worked for me was when i clicked burn disc, i checked the box that says "use sound-check" and then clicked burn and it worked for me. Hope it helps anyone else.

i'm having the exact same issue, and it's happened before. i'm starting to wonder if there's a problem when both iTunes and CD Architect are both loaded on your machine. I use CDA to make redbook-compliant discs for duplication, iTunes to burn CDs for the car.

I tried using the 're-use the cancelled disc' and it -almost- worked. got through about 50 minutes of the CD,then crapped out, took several minutes to cancel during which time it locked up my PC to the extent that i couldn't move my cursor, and then generated the error 'disc cancelled, unknown reason, error 4450 (instead of 4280)'

i'm at my wit's end (not to mention patience). my whole system was working fine, then blammo. no more cd burning, and not a thing has changed, same blank CD-Rs...

unbelievable. i guess my next step is to re-install iTunes.

Welcome to S&A

  • This is the personal web site of Sarah McAuley. After a few years in SF and NY, I have returned to Boston, Jamaica Plain specifically, to continue my career as a marketing wench. I recently (Dec. 07) switched industries, leaving telecom for the exciting world of clean tech. I no longer commute to an office park 75 minutes away, which has helped my mood considerably. I hate pesto and I love to read. I think sharing my life with strangers is odd and narcissistic, which of course is why I'm addicted to it and have been doing it for several years now. Need more? You can read the "About Me" section, drop me an email, or you know, just read the drivel that I pour out here.
